First of all, a huge CONGRATULATIONS to the class of 2011! You made it! Thank you to everyone who put so much time and hard work into planning and running the beautiful Pinning Ceremony. Well done and good luck to all the graduates!

Also… believe it or not, another year has flown by. We’ve all survived and succeeded through the thousands of pages of reading, the ATI exams, the summary briefs, and the early mornings of clinicals. Congrats to everyone for working so hard, and thanks for being a part of the Nursing Club. It’s been a fun year! Now let’s relax, recharge, and enjoy the summer!!!! See you all in the Fall!

Upcoming Fun…

Wow, this semester is flying by, but there are still plenty of fun things left with the Nursing Club! April 30th is MESA day at Sonoma State, May 3rd is the Swirl Time fundraiser for Pinning, and May 7th is the Human Race. Check out the Events page and the Calendar for details.

Elections are here! Click here for descriptions of each position. If you’re interested in running, please email your name, which position you’re running for, and a couple sentences on why you’d be a good fit for that position. Email to the SSU Nursing Club email address by Wednesday April 27th. Then, look for an email ballot that will be sent out so you can vote by May 1st.

Merchandise is being ordered so get excited for more cool shirts and sweatshirts, plus our new lanyards and tote bags!

Also, our next meeting is the last one of the year and we’ll be having a big pizza party. You don’t want to miss out! It’s Monday, May 9th at 1pm in the Multipurpose Room of the Student Union. Hope to see you there!

A Big Success!

Saturday’s Rummage Sale was a BIG success! Thank you so much to everyone who helped out– we made about $350!!! Well done Nursing Club! Photos of the event will be posted soon so stay tuned!

Also, speaking of photos, check out our newly updated nursing boards on campus. Mentor-Mentee powerhouse team Keri Hochstetler and Kathy Zaletel designed and updated the boards with recent photos and information, so swing by to see them. The Nursing Department board is in the 1st floor hallway in Darwin, and the Nursing Club board is in Nichols Hall. If you have any pictures you’d like put up, feel free to email them to SSUnursingclub @gmail.com. Thanks!

Rummage Sale and More!

Get excited for Saturday April 9th! The NCSSU Rummage Sale is almost here! This is a great fundraising event for the club and also tons of fun! See the Events page for all the details on how to help out. You can donate items, volunteer to set up, or work at the sale. And don’t forget to spread the word to your friends and family about the event!

There are plenty more neat events coming up, including MESA Day to be held at SSU on April 30th. It’s a huge event drawing in over 500 educationally disadvantaged students from all over Northern California. Again, see the Events page for more details on how to volunteer.

On another note, elections for club officer positions will be held at our next meeting on Monday, April 25th (Darwin 38 at 12pm). Check out NCSSU Positions for descriptions of each of these leadership opportunities. If you’re interested, send an email to our new nursing club email address at SSUnursingclub @gmail.com. Please include your name, which position you’re running for, and a couple sentences on why you’d be a good fit for that position. It’s an excellent way to get involved and show off those leadership skills!

Thanks and I hope everyone’s semester is going well!

Buckle up… we’re off to a great start!

We’re off to a great start and have some exciting things planned ahead, including our big Rummage Sale. The date is set for Saturday April 9th! This is a great fundraising event for the club, so start that spring cleaning and donate to help raise money- clothing, furniture, books- anything helps! We’ll also need volunteers to help set up the evening before and to work at the sale, so get involved and have fun while you’re at it! Check out the Events page for updated details.

Also, want to sport a snazzy SSU Nursing shirt or sweatshirt? Looking for a cool ID clip to go with your scrubs? Does your bumper need some spicing up with a Nursing Club sticker? The pictures to the left show our most recent designs for the shirts and sweatshirts. Christine is kindly organizing our merchandise and we’re in the process of expanding the options so stay tuned for fun ways to represent SSU Nursing! Contact Christine if you have questions.

Don’t forget to see the Calendar and Meeting Notes pages to keep posted on all the neat things planned. Thanks for checking in! Next meeting is Monday, March 28 at 1pm in Shultz 1121. Note the change from the usual location. Hope to see you there!
