Hey nursing club! I’d like to personally welcome you all to a new semester, especially the incoming sophomore class – congrats on your acceptace! It’s great to see you guys involved and active in the student nursing community here on campus. This year will be a transition, as Kathy Zaletel (Junior) will be taking over my position when I graduate. Please have some patience with updates on the website, as I’ll be slowly turning over all the responsibilities to your new webmistress.
We discussed a lot of things at our first meeting, so be sure to look over the meeting notes and check out the calendar for upcoming events.
One of the things we discussed at the meeting is our need for students to run for sophomore class liaison, treasurer, club congress representative, and fundraising coordinator. For more information about the duties and responsibilities of these open positions, please read the position descriptions and contact Kristy Page if you are interested in running.
Also, don’t forget that if you want to be an official member of the nursing club, dues need to be turned in by our next meeting on September 27th.
Again, any other updates or changes can be found on the meeting notes, events calendar, or other locations on this site. Hope everyone has a great semester!

I know it’s a little belated, but better late than never! Welcome back to another semester! There’s going to be a lot going on, so make sure to attend our monthly meetings if you want to stay informed and involved. If you want something done, you need to make your voice heard. You can only do that if you come to the meetings! We need your ideas for contributions to the community, ideas for fundraising, help with the seniors’ pinning ceremony, and more. We need your input! Last but not least, meeting notes will no longer be e-mailed out. They will be posted right here on the website on the meeting notes page for you to download. Additionally, for upcoming events, please check the calendar. Thanks guys! Have a great semester!

Hey guys! If you’re sick and tired of sitting around as we get screwed out of our education, here’s a little information you might enjoy:
The Legislative Committee resides as a part of Club Congress as well as a separate group within the Associated Students Inc. The Sonoma State Street Team (Legislative Committee) focuses on external issues and how they affect our campus community at hand. SSU sits on a board with all of the other 23 campuses and discusses budget issues, policy agendas, academic advising, facilitation of enrollment, class sizes, and many other issues that come up from year to year. As a committee we will be given these issues, discuss solutions as well as opinions, and come forth to show student support in the capital, local district offices, administration, and to the rest of the campus community as a whole.
The next meeting for the Sonoma State Street Team (Legislative Committee) is Wednesday, 10/7/09 in the multi-purpose room of the Student Union (1st floor) at 12:00 pm. Come and hear what’s going on with your student fee money!

Hey all! Hope everyone is having a great start to the semester. I know the sophomores just started their clinicals, so I hope those are going well too
Anyway…just wanted to relay some updated information regarding the Light the Night Walk in Santa Rosa this upcoming Saturday! The walk is on Saturday, September 26th at 7:00 pm. Registration starts at 5:00 pm, but Cristen thinks if we get there around 6:30 pm we should be good. We’ve decided to meet at the hand statue at the backside of the mall (by the Rubio’s and Fresh Choice). Also, we have signs that might need a little love (aka decorating), so if you’re interested in helping out, we’re going to be decorating the signs sometime on Friday. For more info regarding that, please contact Cristen or Liz. All these details are also on the calendar, so check that out….Hope to see you all there!
